OVERVIEW
In April 2019, Oxenfree had the chance to partner with StudioNow to film a series of social-media-ready commercials for Coca-Cola, Walgreens, Walmart, Powerade, and Kroger; featuring the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team.
Our goal was to create a series of social videos that let viewers peek into the everyday moments that make up the USWNT's lives as soccer players and role models. Through light, engaging content, we sought to hold the viewer’s attention & connect them subtly to the 5 national brands throughout the shoot.
PROBLEM
Given one production day at the Orlando City Stadium, we needed to capture:
-
Q&A-style video with Alex Morgan for Coca-Cola & Walgreens
-
Narrative Commercial with Crystal Dunn for Powerade & Walmart
-
Kroger radio ad with Crystal Dunn
-
Powerade product and lifestyle photography
-
Corporate Callouts with Alex Morgan, Crystal Dunn, and Kelley O'Hara
-
PR Event Photography with the 3 players and female youth soccer organization
-
Pickup for Crystal Dunn National Spot
-
Additional Social Media B-Roll for sizzles
Also, we only had access to each player for 5 hours max.
SOLUTION
We planned a simultaneous shoot schedule with two film crews pre-lighting their zones in preparation for the USWNT players to arrive. The two crews separated & combined throughout the day depending on what content was being captured.
RESULT
Somehow, we did it all! Captured 8 different shoots for 5 national brands in one day for a variety of social deliverables. See some of the final spots below, as well as the production map & schedules!
